Truyện 8. Sự tích con Sam

Ngày xưa có hai vợ chồng một người đánh cá nghèo. Một hôm người chồng ra khơi với bạn nghề. Không may có một trận bão rất lớn nổi lên giữa lúc họ đang thả lưới. Không một người nào thoát khỏi tai nạn. Tin dữ về đến làng, tất cả mọi gia đình đánh cá đều đau khổ. Tiếng khóc lan đi các nhà. Riêng người đàn bà lòng đau như cắt. Như điên như cuồng, bà bỏ nhà ra đi, hy vọng tìm thấy chồng. Bà cứ theo bờ biển đi, đi mãi. Trải qua hai ngày đến một hòn núi lớn. Bà trèo lên rồi vì mệt quá ngủ thiếp dưới một gốc cây.
Đang ngủ bỗng có một tiếng nổ dữ dội. Bà choàng dậy thấy một ông lão đầu tóc bạc phơ đứng trước mặt mình, hỏi: -  Người là ai  dám đến nằm trước nhà ta? 
Người dàn bà mếu máo đáp: - Tôi đi tìm chồng. Cụ làm ơn chỉ giúp kẻo tôi nóng lòng nóng ruột quá! 
Cụ già nói: - Ta là thần Cây. Thấy nhà người chung tình ta rất thương. Vậy ta báo cho biết là chồng người còn sống, hiện ở ngoài hải đảo.

Nói rồi, ông cụ trao cho người đàn bà một viên ngọc và bảo: -  Ngươi hãy ngậm viên ngọc này vào miệng thì sẽ bay qua được biển đế gặp chồng. Nhưng phải nhớ là nhắm mắt ngậm miệng kẻo rơi ngọc mà nguy đó.
Ông cụ nói xong biến mất. Bà ta lấy ngọc ngậm vào miệng và nhắm mắt lại. Thốt nhiên trời bỗng nổi gió ù ù. Bà thấy người như nhẹ bỗng, hai bên tai nghe tiếng vo ve. Được một lúc sau thấy chân chấm đất, bà mở mắt ra thì thấy mình đang đứng trên một bãi cát lạ mà gió bấy giờ đã lặng. Trông thấy chồng ngồi co ro trên bãi, bà mừng quá. Hai vợ chồng hàn huyên một hồi lâu rồi mới tính chuyện trở về làng cũ.
Người chồng ôm ngang lưng vợ để vợ đưa qua biển cả. Lòng người vợ sung sướng không thể nói hết. Vì thế, bà ta đã quên mất lời của thần Cây dặn. Miệng mắc ngậm ngọc nhưng bà vẫn cố hỏi chuyện chồng. Đột nhiên viên ngọc văng ra giữa không trung. Bà chỉ kịp kêu lên một tiếng rồi cả hai vợ chồng đều sa xuống biển. Rồi đó họ hóa thành những con sam.
Ngày nay, những con sam thường đi cặp đôi ở dưới nước, lúc nào con sam đực cũng ôm lấy con sam cái như khi chồng ôm vợ để bay qua biển.
Có câu tục ngữ ''Thương như sam'', là do truyện này  ra.

GIỠ HAO JRANG chapter 4

Their fighting was very noisy. When their knives hit against the others or hit again shields it rumbled as thunders. The place between sky and ground where they fought was covered by dusts. They wrestled, punched and kicked other by their feet. They burked others by their huge hands. Daytime as like nighttime they fought without resting. Thuong Luong

Thuong Luong was common name of creatures which are in people’s imagines. They are distant relatives of dragons. While dragons are worshiped as gods, the gods ruled rivers and sea and the gods can make rains, Thuong Luong is not respected as dragons that the creatures are too amorous, combative, wild, and have bad behaviors. All most of them like to harm people.

De was a young boy. His parent was servants of a landlord. Every morning, De led landlord’s cattle to meadow and brought them back at nightfall. De used to be excited in playing with his fellows and when he was in his game he didn’t care anything. Many times the cattle he herded ate rice on field and the owners used to beat him pained but he still left cattle and joined in his fellows. One normal day, he and his fellows had a swimming competition. An award was given to the winner that he couldn’t refuse. Therefore, he participated in the competition and left his cattle on a wild hill. They swam and dived in water until noon and when they walked on ground, a cow had disappeared. The cow belonged to no one but his master. Children separated to find the cow but the cow seemed to vanish they couldn’t find it. Xưa, có hai vợ chồng nhà nọ lấy nhau lâu ngày. Người vợ bỗng sinh trắc nết gian díu với một chàng trai. Hai bên say mê nhau và điều ước muốn của người đàn bà là làm sao cho chồng sớm chết để mình được tự do đi lại với tình nhân. The dangerous thing existing inside a person

A  man was good-for-nothing but he was gentle and good-hearted. He had a wife but she dead so early. He lived alone from that and his life also became poorer. He had ever begged but he thought the job was too raffish and besides, it couldn’t help him to have enough money to live. Therefore, he changed into another job. He worked for another to get wages but he only worked a day to realize the job made him tired and ashamed because he was blamed by his owner. Prince   Nhat Ton was born in 1023 as his father was living as a prince who was chosen to be the next king. His father (later was Thai Tong Ly) lived in Long Duc palace. When his father ascended the throne and went to castle to live, Prince Nhat Ton was ordained to be the heir with appellation “Khai Hoang Vuong”.
