List of Vietnamese fairy tales

Vietnamese fairy tales includes many stories as Tam and Cam; So Dua; Hundred – knot- bamboo tree... which were spread in folk. Each stories has  its own meaning. I think I can not translate exactly each word into english but I will try my best to convey its meaning to you. Hope you like them!

205. Quan Âm Thị Kính

Ngày xửa ngày xưa, có một người trải đã nhiều kiếp, kiếp nào từ bé đến lớn cũng giữ mình đức hạnh và thành bậc chân tu. Cứ luân hồi chuyển kiếp như vậy liên tiếp đến 9 lần, nhưng chưa kiếp nào được thành Phật. Đến kiếp thứ 10, Đức Thích Ca muốn thử lòng, bắt vào đầu thai làm con gái một nhà họ Mãng ở nước Cao Ly.  Họ Mãng đặt tên nàng là Thị Kính. Lớn lên, nàng tài sắc nết na lại hiếu thảo hết lòng. Once  upon a time, there had a couple who lived in a small village. The wife was not a faithful woman she had a lover not her husband. The woman and her lover wanted to come to the other without any balk that the more early the husband died the more they felt happy. Though, they didn’t dare to kill him. Every day, the woman brought small feast to a temple near that and begged the God to make her husband die. At last, the bad behavior of the woman came to her husband. Tam and Cam

Once upon a time, there had a little girl named Tam. Her mother died early so her father decided to remarry on purpose the stepmother would take care of his little daughter. The stepmother gave birth to a girl, named Cam after that. Then, her father died after few years. Tam had to live with her stepmother and her sister, Cam.
