VD:
I saw my friend run down the street
I saw my friend running down the street.
VD:
When walked into the room, I heard my friend singing.
I heard a famous singer sing at concert last night.

perception verbs followed by simple form or v-ing form
see
I saw my friend run/ running down the street
notice
watch
I watch people go/going cross the street
look at
he looked at his son play/playing
observe
She obseved her daughter sing/singing in the theater
hear
I hear a bird sing/singing
listen to
 I listen to birds sing/singing
