15. Rose

Once upon a time, in distance located a country which stood besides an vast ancient forest. That was an independent country. People, now, were living peace and happy days after great time they had to fight. And, the hero who led them in the war of independence was become their king.
Time passed, people who had ever cared, protected and helped others, now, only thought for herself and himself, lived for benefit of each oneself. They turned selfish, greedy and unfeeling. Their king also turned worse. He stayed on the top of power, the throne but forgot his people. He let his greedy courtiers rule country. The courtiers due to wanting the king neglected brought him the most beautiful girl to charmed him. The girl was become their queen. Opposite thing courtiers wanted, the queen was wise and kind-hearted. She always advised her husband to attend to his country. Therefore, courtiers hated her very much. They wanted to harm her but they couldn't because the king loved her so much.
rose, tales of roses
At last, they caught the chance. The queen was pregnant and gave birth to a son, a strange child who had transparent body that people could saw all his blood-vessels and even viscera. A rumour immediately was spread out.
"Queen is a witch." screamed servants of courtiers on streets. Fastly, the rumour had come all people in that country. When the rumour was spread out whole the country, courtiers all together started to force the king to dispose the queen. The queen had to leave castle with her son. She and the son would live as normal people for the rest of their lives. They were cursed and driven away on whole they way they left. People even threw toward them all things they could find on street. They beat her and she, the disposed queen on other way attempted to protected her son. She covered him in her body and received injuries. At last, disposed queen and her son arrived to ancient forest. She fell down because she was too tired and pained. The poor woman turned to her son who was lying besides her. She caressed him. Tears slid on her cheeks. She knew she didn't have much time. Then, she died because of serious injuries people gave her.
The poor child lost his mother as he was too little, not able to take care of himself and besides, no one here was kind enough to care to him. He cried when hunger and thirst maltreated him. The cry was so loudly that it passed clouds and came to heaven, to the throne of king's heaven. King of heaven could hear it but no one of people in that country care about the cry. The more king of heaven felt pity the child, the more he felt angry with the people. He immediately ordered a angel to go, brought the child to deep forest and reared besides animals. Then, he gave people of the country a vow that thorns would grow on entire their bodies till they knew what's love. All people brought thorns though he or she was normal or royals. And, the thorns would get more harder and longer if they turned greedier and more unfeeling. Loneliness was the price they had to pay. However, each one of them only lived for himself or herself that's also the reason their country turned weak. Of course, their enemy didn't waste the chance. They were fought by one of their neighbor country. When invaders spread in, almost people escaped they didn't want to fight. The others were forced to fight. The king was too old while courtiers scared. Therefore, they fastly got failure. When the king brought soldiers back castle, his castle had lost because the courtiers had given it to their enemies. Too angry, the king attempted to regain the castle but he couldn't. He fell down he got wound by an arrow. Some loyal soldiers saved the king. They brought him, ran toward ancient forest. They stopped at the edge. When she looked at wounded soldiers besides him and thought about courtiers, the betrayers, the king felt remorseful. He remembered his wife and innocent son. The feeling of guilt made his wound turned worse. He and soldiers were forced to go in deep forest and camp there. They recruited and trained new members.
Under the harsh ruling of their enemies, people escaped. They heard about the ancient forest where their king and armies were training and prepared for an independent fight. The people didn't hesitated, found the way to there. Their army got stronger and more crowded after days. That's the reason their enemy felt worried. They sent people to there to trouble them but the spies couldn't complete their mission. They were caught before they couldn't do anything.
At last, the army was strong enough to fight against their enemy. The king ordered soldiers to leave forest. They went straight castle and fought. Soldiers was so brave and combative. They believed in their king, believed in future independence. Their belief gave them much strength. Months later, the enemy was expelled from their country.
Unluckily, their king got another wound at the last fight. Age and fatigue after long fight made him fall down. People hadn't celebrated the win, now got worried about their king's health which turned much worse each day.
The king lay on his bed. He knew that he didn't have much time.
"I wish I can hug my son one time before I die." said the king many times, "My poor child, I have never seen him."
Suddenly, one person went in and informed that a physician came and said that he could cure the king. Castle's gate opened, the physician went in. The covered whole his body by canvas that nobody could see his face. He went to king's bed with no noise. Tears slid on his cheek as he heard his father called his name. The tears dropped on king's face and woke him up. The king raised his hand to him, the person stood besides. And hurriedly, the physician grabbed his father's hand. He kneed down.
"Father! I'm here." he said, unwrapped the canvas, showed people his transparent body. To cure his father, he raise his father and hugged him tightly though thorns stabbed deeply on him and made him bleed. It's amazing the king felt better as blood swept on his body. Thorns also vanished when blood reached them. After that, he put his father down his bed. He slowly stood up, approached others. He hugged the nearest person.
"Love. We should give others love. All punishments god gave us will vanish if we know to love others." he said.
When the thorns on the person had vanished, the son continued hugging other. Old and young, male and female, poor and rich, normal or disable, he hugged one by one. Of course, he got weaker after each person. At last, he's exhausted and kneed by road but he still opened his arms, asked people to come and hug him.
"Please! Don't prince. We don't want to get rid of thorns. We want you're alive." said people.
Suddenly, music resounded and judge of heaven's king came.
"It's so good you all have understood love to get rid of selfish, greed and jealousy. Love is sacrificing yourselves for others."
The music vanished with the thorns on their bodies. When people looked, the prince had laid on ground. His eyes closed and the last words he said were:
"Happiness's being lived together. Love's to share. My friend, remember love doesn't belong to anyone. It only come when we give it to others..."
Then, he died. The next morning, the king led crowd of people, brought his son to edge of forest. Whole people in the capital came here and watched he was put in ground. Strangely, when he had been buried, crowds of animal and birds went to here, lay there sadly.
One year later, people came back there. Around his tomb grew up flowers which were red as blood and many thorns on their roots. People believed that the flowers were revival of their prince. They believed their prince wanted to remind them about love. And after that, the name of flowers were rose.
Till now, though roses have different colors, they always symbolize love.

The end. ❤❤❤
