“This is the time we need to divide our parent’s assets.” He said, “We both need private lives”.
“How will we divide?” said the young brother.
“All things our parent left were in three types: male, female and neutral. Because you are younger then me, I will give you all things which were male I will get things which were female and neutral. If you agreed, sign you name on this paper”, said the old brother.
The young innocently thought that his brother was very kind, giving him good things so he signed his name on the paper. They started separating.
“This house is mine. This female buffalo is mine. This plow is mine, This jar is mine….” said the old brother.
From morning to afternoon, almost things belonged to the old brother while the young brother seemed not to have anything. There was nothing which was male. At last, he grabbed a broad, heavy knife placed on ground.
“This is male kinfe”, he shouted, “It belongs to me”.
He brought the knife and went away while his brother was laughing.
The young brother had to work as a woodcutter to live. Because he didn’t have house so he used to ask others to stay in their house. He also slept in village hall or restaurants, sometime. Though, he always tried to work hard that helped him not need to beg others to have money for food.
One night, he woke up after a sleep. Though that sun had risen up he find the way to the forest but he’s wrong that was light spread from the moon. Until he stood at the edge of the woods, he realized it was night. He found an ancient tree, helped himself lie on ground and slept. But there was place monkeys used to come and play. That night monkeys came but there had a person lying on. They though that was a corpses so they told others to bury him. He woke up while they were bringing him. Intended to scream but he stopped he wanted to know what they would do. Later, he heard the mokeys told.
“Don’t bury in the hole containing gold. Bury in the hole containing silver”. But the leader of them, a gorilla, said:
“Burry in the hole containing gold, not bury in the hole containing silver”.
Then, the monkeys brought him far away, placed him down and came back the tree. Saw gold which was lying on ground he was very happy. He waited for the money going away, took some gold and filled full his pocket. Later, he made his way out the forest. He used the gold to buy a house, fields… his life turned more easily.
His story, a woodcutter caught gold in forest, traveled through the village. The old brother heard the story but he didn’t believe it much. When their father's death anniversary, the young brother made a feast and invited his brother to participate. The old brother couldn’t hide his surprise as he saw what his brother had now.
“Omg! How can you have the things? You must catch gold”, he said.
The young brother told him entire his story. After he heard the story, the old brother borrowed his brother the knife. He waited for full moon, brought the knife to the forest. He lied on the ancient tree and waited for the mokeys. Course, that night the monkeys came and one more time, they saw a corpse. They took him away.
“Don’t bury in the hole containing gold. Bury in the hole containing silver”, sang the monkeys
“The hole contains gold! The hole contains gold!” yelled the old brother, raising his head.
Immediately, the monkeys threw him away and ran toward any direction. He rolled down mountain slope his head banged on stone. He died.
